This month, men all around the world are growing mustaches to raise awareness around men’s health, specifically around prostate cancer. It’s more than just a mustache; it’s a movement to make a difference in the lives of men everywhere.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancer forms among men, but more can be done to spread knowledge about the disease. In 2020 1.4 million men were diagnosed with prostate cancer worldwide, and almost 400 000 died from the disease (Source Prostate Cancer Statistics CancerNet). We know that both the men that are affected by prostate cancer, and the people around them, have a tough fight. But we also know that with the right treatment the chances of winning the fight are good, and the survival rate has increased a lot in the last decades due to advances in screening and treatment.

How CLS supports the fight against prostate cancer

As an innovative medical device company, CLS provides laser-based tools that are used in healthcare to remove diseased tissue, such as prostate tumors. This is called laser ablation and can be done as an outpatient minimally invasive procedure without the need for open surgery. The aim is to selectively target the tumor, preserving the surrounding healthy tissues.
