Last week CLS attended the Focal Therapy Masterclass meeting in Paris, organized by the European Association of Urology (EAU). The attendees were either KOLs in the field and part of the meeting faculty, or urologists with limited experiences in focal therapy but with a strong interest to learn more and get started to use this therapy option in their clinics.
For CLS the meeting thus offered a perfect opportunity to meet with both the leading experts, and with clinicians about to introducing focal therapy.
We joined an interesting and intense program with lectures by the faculty members, mixed with patient cases for discussion submitted by the participants.
Prof. Dr. Dimitri Enikeev held a very positive and enthusiastic presentation on focal laser ablation (FLA). Our technology was highlighted as new and advanced and Prof. Dr. Enikeev even showed our animation which made our key features such as temperature-controlled ablations and sharp ablation zones, very clear.
We had a small booth located inside the actual lecture hall. Our setup worked very well and included the TRANBERG® Laser Unit with accessories, a product display, two rollups and brochures etc.
On day 2 hands-on training sessions were held where all participants attended our both for a short introduction and demonstration of our TRANBERG system for FLA held by Perjan Pleunis, VP Sales Europe, and Lotta Nilsson, VP Marketing. An actual prostate cancer patient case with pre- and post treatment images was also shown.
All in all, the hands-on training was very appreciated and generated lots of in-depth questions from the audience.
In summary, we are back from this meeting with many new insights, promising new contacts and a lot of inspiration for 2024. Our TRANBERG system was received as an easy and convenient system to start with, with a short learning curve and suitable for most patients who can benefit from focal therapy.
